Eating fruits and vegetables when they are in season is sometimes challenging for me. There are always all kinds of fruits and vegetables at farmer’s markets and grocery stores and to be honest, I really don’t know when they are all in season. This simple monthly classification is a great help when choosing produce for your main dishes, salads or smoothies.
JANUARY – oranges, mandarins, clementines, lemons, grapefruit, kiwi fruit, kale, Brussel’s sprouts, cauliflower, green salad, endive, red-leaved chicory, lamb’s lettuce, spinach, leeks, beetroot, celeriac, kohlrabi, parsley, turnips.
